Notice on Changes to Thailand Customs Regulations

The Thai Ministry of Finance has announced changes to import customs regulations to improve unfair trade practices and strengthen the competitiveness of small and medium-sized enterprises.


Accordingly, starting January 1, 2026, customs duties will be imposed on all shipments imported into Thailand. Please take note of the following information when using our service.


Key Changes

Change in Customs Duty Threshold

  • Applicable shipments: All shipments to Thailand
  • Taxable value: THB 1 or more (previously THB 1,500)


Important Notes to Avoid Delivery Delays

For customs clearance in Thailand, the following recipient information is mandatory:

  • Recipient’s full name
  • Accurate address
  • Valid email address
  • Mobile phone number


Customs Duty Payment for DHL Shipments

Customers with a DHL account: Duties will be charged to the recipient’s DHL account

Customers without a DHL account:

1) DHL will provide an online payment link, or

2) Duties can be paid by card or cash upon delivery

Q. How are customs duties calculated?

A. The Thai government applies Incoterms CIF / CIP for customs duty calculation.


Q. Are customs duties applied to both B2C and B2B shipments?

A. Yes. All shipments with a taxable value of THB 1 or more, including both personal and business shipments, are subject to customs duties.


Q. Are there any changes to VAT (Value Added Tax)?

A. VAT has been applied to all imported goods since June 2024 and will continue to be applied without change.
